    Hi all! It's been an incredibly long time since I've last been on here. To simply put it, life happens and some things took major priority which is why I had to put this mod on hold. I apologize for not giving any closure or updates regarding the future of this mod. However, as of now the Nora Spouse Companion mod will continue to be supported and given future updates.

    First of all, thank you to all the users who have helped trouble shoot this mod to anyone who was experiencing issues, glitches, compatibility issues with the Nora Companion Mod. I'm extremely grateful, and will try to be more active on Nexus to provide available help and updates.

    So what's next for the Nora Spouse Companion? Well, I'll show you!

    Far Harbor and Nuka World DLC support are coming to soon to the Nora Spouse Companion Mod!
    When? Well, I don't have a set release date, but I'm hoping for a March or April 2020 release!

    Progress Update:
    Far Harbor is mostly complete as Nora will engage in dialogue in quests where Longfellow and Nick typically comment or interject. It's a matter of me play testing to ensure Nora engages in dialogue during the main and side quests.

    As for Nuka world, there aren't that many dialogue interjections for companions in this dlc. Currently implementing and testing custom dialogue I created so Nora will be more interactive in this dlc.

    Also, Nora's affinity has been updated for both Far Harbor and Nuka World.

    For Users with experience in Creation Kit:

    Currently, I have the NoraSpouse plugin as an esm in order to create the esp files for the Nuka World and Far Harbor DLC Support. It was necessary in order for the esp to reference objects from another file since esp cannot reference another esp unless it is a master file (esm). I am not a creation kit guru, but is there a work around for this? Or will I have to upload NoraSpouse as an esm file on Nexus in preparation for the DLC Support plugins?

    Hello there. HouseVariable here. First, I would like to apologize for the delay, COVID-19 has certainly caused some hardships for my family and friends. Hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. Despite all the craziness and busyness, I'm relieved and happy to now release Nora Spouse Companion ver 1.2 and Far Harbor Support on Nexus. I'm not quite satisfied or done with working with Nuka World. Been super busy, but I'm hoping for a June release for Nuka World support.

    Here are the changes:

    Nora Spouse Companion ver 1.2 is now an esm file. This is necessary to allow for the dlc support plugins/ esp files to work.

    Ver 1.2 adds some new idle chatter, greetings, and combat dialogue.
    I've been trying my best to replicate bugs posted on the mod page, however please be aware the mod may not be compatible with every mod, or needs to be in a specific load order. Also, make sure vortex or any mod manager you use installs the mod correctly. Thank you again to users who have been helping others troubleshoot some issues.

    FOR USERS CURRENTLY USING ESP VERSION: Before updating/installing the esm file, I highly recommend you remove all items in Nora's inventory and dismiss her. Uninstall esp file and install the esm file.

    Since the main Nora Spouse.esm file is essentially a new plugin, you will have to find Nora again at Abernathy's farm when the quest, "O Spouse Where Art Thou" triggers once loading your current save file.

    Unfortunately, you will not be able to carry over her affinity and items from the esp version. Having both the esm and esp files will cause your game to have two Nora's.

    Far Harbor Support plugin adds:
    new dialogue interjections/interrupts to Far Harbor Quests. Quests Nick or Longfellow typically comment on.
    Updated affinity to support Far Harbor quests
    New Idle dialogue for Far Harbor
    Short quest commentary to quest ending of Far Harbor when asking Nora her thoughts. Ex. Dima's death, returning Kasumi to her parents, etc.

    So what's next after dlc support? Other than dlc support, I've done everything I've wanted to do with this companion mod. However,.....

    Currently brainstorming two possible features that may or may not happen:

    One of them is a companion quest for Nora. Her companion quest would be called "The Replacement". This was one of Fallout 4's cut quests that did not make it into the game. My take on it would be after reaching max affinity, a random event will occur in which you and Nora will encounter synth versions of themselves in the Common Wealth.This would trigger Nora's personal quest, "The Replacement". Depending on whether or not you are allied with the Institute, the quest will go differently.

    If the player is enemies with the Institute, the synth copies of Nate and Nora will be hostile when you randomly encounter them. Defeating them will continue the quest line in which you and Nora must investigate who, where, and why there are synth copies of you.

    If the player is allied with the Institute, you will encounter Synth Nora and Nate alongside an Institute scientist requesting that they accompany you on a series of Institute missions. This will enable them to be potential companions.

    Would Nora accept or tolerate a synth version of herself? Let me know what you think?

    My other possible feature would be to have Nora as an additional companion who does not take up a companion slot. This would allow for two companions to accompany you.

    Again, these are just some ideas I have in mind that may or may not happen.

    Nonetheless, it has been 2 years since the Nora Spouse Companion has had it's last update. I remember first creating this mod back in 2017, and it's been an incredible journey learning how the creation kit worked, and being able to create a somewhat functional companion mod. Thank you again for the extreme patience, support, comments, suggestions, and constructive criticisms!

      yes.....open console, click on Nora...get her id (can remember exactly but it is something like xx001735) then with console open type slm xx001735 and change her to your hearts desire...this is best to do after you pick her up at abernathy farm....

      note: during character creation at the start of the game, if you will change Nora to your liking, you can save her preset, then use the same preset once you pick her up...

      noticing you are probably new considering the number of posts you have....learning to use looks menu and the show looks menu command is a necessity if you want to change any of the base npcs in the game...

      I'm not a beginner. I tried changing the whole body, but not the hairstyle and face.
      Besides, I found a way.

      Found a potential fix/work around

      1. hit your ~ key to open the console
      2. type SLM 14 or showlooksmenu 14
      3. Save your male characters face
      4. Exit slm
      5. type in the console with nothing selected "sexchange"
      6. type slm 14 again
      7. now begin crafting what you want nora to look like, or apply a preset you already have
      8. once done close slm
      9. type "sexchange" once again to revert back to your male character
      10. apply the male preset you saved earlier
      11. find the nora companion
      12. open the console then click on her then type SLM + the id at the top
      13. apply the nora preset you saved
      14. Profit!

    "Hi - perhaps you can help me here? I have tried Xedit with your mod AND AFT (Amazing Follower Tweaks) both of which seem to equip her with a default 10mm pistol, and deleted any 10mm Pistol reference, in both your mod and AFT.  I Do NOT want her using this - I gave her an incredible rifle and yet every time I look at her when action starts, she has that dang pistol again! I cannot edit her in CK - because the mod's an .esm, so perhaps you can instruct me on what to do - this is getting very frustrating!

      if you use AFT to set her outfit(s) you can assign different weapons to each outfit type...standard, combat, city, etc..

      I have used this method for over 5K game hours and it never fails...

    after using Start Me Up, the quest doesnt start (for obvious reasons). i just made it work be using setstage xx001f48 10. obviously its lore breaking that i am a citizen already of the commonwealth and she thinks im still nate. as for getting shot in the head, i added a scar on the eyebrows.

    The only way I can make this work in my head, is when they took shaun Kellog didn't really take her. He shot her with some sort of sleeping dart or something, then refreezed her. Later on, Father sends a team out to retrieve her, and he body is replaced with a synth, to add extra motavation to find the institute. Icing on the cake, one could say. Anyhow, when exiting the vault they are ambushed and she escapes into the commonwealth. This only works if you download this after escaping, though. Does it have plot holes? Yes. Does it make this easier to believe? Also yes. Anyways felt like sharing this, and great mod.

    any way to change Nora's Clothes? I've tried using npc outfit manager but she gets back to her initial vault jumpsuit after a few minutes.
    Any help will be accepted.

      In my experience, I just hand her over clothes via trading and make her equip it (I'm using DEF_UI), which makes the newly equipped clothing invisible and lets me take her Vault jumpsuit. If you want to remove THAT too, you can use the console, looking at Nora in first person, bring up the console, click on her and type removeitem "(item code)" 1. That should get rid of her clothing and leave her a blank slate for you to dress up as you please.

      There is a mod here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/29674 called "A Sex Mod" - it provides a holo-tape, in which you will find a couple components : "Nude Clean" and "Nude Dirty"'. Grab the clean one, give it to your intended follower, and make them equip it - as soon as you do this, ALL clothing items will be available to take, and then you can equip them with whatever you want. it works via the Trade dialogue. Simple, easy, and fast. You do not require complicated/unnecessary console commands!!!!!

      However, to rid her of that silly PipBoy, a simple console command must be used. Towit: "xxxxxxx (her ID).unequipitem 00021b3b 1"   This will remove EVERYTHING. Then open a trade with her and equip what you wish, incl modded-in weapons, etc. You can easily alter her appearance as well via Looksmenu, incl. giving her hair w/physics if you use mods that provide these.

      FYI: I use this mod in conjunction with Alternate Start, AFT, and I use a female character of my own making. Everything works fine in my game. Be sure to install the  mod: "Nora Spouse Companion-LooksMenu Patch v1.2"  https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/45591  to ensure that Looks Menu works smoothly with Nora.

      open a normal trade w/her and give it to her then equip it on her like it were clothing items, etc

    Hey! I'm just posting to say I love your mod. I remember watching the trailer for this game an being hyped as f*** to know you can customize your spouse and potentially have a named custom companion only to find out "Nick" or "Nora" dies in the opening. Found this mod through MxR back in 2017 right around the time I finally gave the game a try and Nora is my favorite companion ever. I'm posting now cause I see that its no longer a WIP and I just wanted to congratulate you on finishing it even though I'm a year late! Thanks again for your hard work, I plan on revisiting this game and this mod is top of my list!

    Wow, this mod is so awesome.  I love the interactions and give and take between Nate & Nora and how it is done seamlessly.  I was blown away by this mod.  You have serious talent.

    BTW, mod works using FROST.  Not quite the plot of the FROST mod, but I can deal with it; we'll never find Sean so we'll just have to survive on our own :)
